Torrie is from North Carolina. Her interest in journalism was sparked during her Yearbook class in high school. She enjoys expressing the stories of those whose voices are not heard within the media. At school, she is a member of the National Honor Society and a volunteer at her local church, where she cares for children of support group members. Torrie aspires to expose the ways the broken healthcare system hurts people and, in the future, hopes to build her own newspaper and magazine company. She also hopes to write young adult novels and travel abroad to learn about different overseas cultural conflicts.
