Sofia is from California. She became interested in journalism during her freshman year of high school when she was part of a summer program in which she co-directed a short film on the gender discrimination that exists in today's school system. Sofia currently currently writes and edits stories as a youth reporter for her local news outlet. Sofia is also part of the tennis and swimming team at her school and is a member of the QuestBridge College Prep Scholars. Sofia hopes to become a psychiatrist or journalist.
