Lorena Avilés Trujillo is pursuing a PhD in sociology at Stanford University with a focus on international migration and black markets that meet human needs. She graduated cum laude from Harvard with a degree in Sociology and Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights, where she earned numerous awards for scholarly research. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago by way of Mexico, Lore spent several years on TED Conferences' Curation Team, driving strategy, conducting data analyses, and researching content before returning to school full-time. As a member of the PSJP leadership team, Lore enjoys reading applications, interviewing students, and preparing speaker programming. Lore is a PSJP alum from the summer of 2012.
