Ariel is from California. Since becoming the editor-in-chief of her high school’s newspaper, her love for journalism has only grown. Looking thoughtfully at current events and the lives of others, she finds journalism gives her a unique way to experience the world. Outside of school, she volunteers at her local library as a member of the Teen Library Advisory Board and likes to spend her spare time sewing, reading, or curating playlists. She plans to amplify the voices of other girls and women through her writing with the hope of helping change the way they are portrayed in the media for the better.
